Motivational quotes are great! It is a very dense, profound learnings from others that may have taken them years to understand. It is useful for everyone, and for me, cures temporary procrastination (it works best when i put edited quote images in my desktop background).
The downside of the quote is that the person reading it might not fully understand its implication. Quotes have some limitations too. Due to its short nature, it represents just one of the many wisdom that is needed. For example, the adage along the lines of 'Success is dependent on effort,' though powerful in its simple universality, lacks the practical insights of how to utilize the effort with the right direction and precision- that's for the readers to answer throughout their course of life.
It could also be used as a defensive tool for justification. For a person, unmotivated to do work, just wasting every day satisfying temporary happiness, the quote 'Live life to the fullest, and focus on the positive' might drive him/her to become more complacent of the present. There are times when realistic, or even skeptical viewpoints are needed for quotes, because quotes are opinions after all, and they're not perfectly tailored to every situation.
Quotes are short punchlines that would definitely guide and help you, but it is crucial to understand its core meaning, and deepen your understanding on your own. With my advice in mind, take a look at these quotations. (some are my favorite, some are other students') Ask yourself which suits for you, and ponder on its meaning for a long time :)
